- Tata Sabaya is very remote and high-altitude; plan travel in the dry season (roughly May-October) when 4x4 routes are most likely to be passable and arrange a local 4x4 and guide from the nearest towns rather than attempting independent access.
- There are no visitor facilities at the volcano-allow extra time for road travel, check current local road conditions before setting out, and allow time to acclimatize to the altitude in nearby towns before attempting excursions.
