Tåsinge

Tåsinge is an island in the South Funen Archipelago of southern Denmark, a few kilometres south of the town of Svendborg. It is a rural island known for its estates, farmland and coastal scenery.

Visitors generally go to explore country roads, shoreline views and historic sites rather than large-scale tourist infrastructure. The island’s principal historic attraction is Valdemars Castle, an estate with parkland and a museum that interprets local history.

The island has been settled for centuries and was shaped by local landowning families; the castle and estate buildings date from the early modern period and have been preserved as a cultural site. Over time the island’s economy shifted from feudal estates toward mixed agriculture and tourism.

Geographically it sits between Funen and the smaller islands of the South Funen Archipelago, administered from the Svendborg area of Southern Denmark.
