How to Get to Tallinn TV Tower #

Tallinn TV Tower sits in the Pirita/Maarjamäe area east of Tallinn city centre. By car it’s roughly 8-9 km from Tallinn’s Old Town - expect a 15-25 minute drive along the main road to Pirita (Pirita tee) depending on traffic; there is parking at the site. Public buses serve the Pirita/Maarjamäe area from the centre-check Tallinn Transport (TLT) timetables for the current routes; from the nearest bus stop it’s a short walk up to the tower.

Tips for Visiting Tallinn TV Tower #

  • Aim for a clear day and visit mid- to late-morning for the best long-range views over Tallinn and the Gulf of Finland; visibility drops quickly in fog or low cloud.
  • Buy timed-entry tickets online in advance to avoid the ticket queue and to reserve any special experiences (observation deck or guided edge-walks) that have limited capacity.
  • Combine the visit with a short trip to nearby Pirita (song festival grounds) - the tower sits outside the historic centre, so allow travel time and use the main public entrance at the base of the tower.
