Talaiassa
Mountain Highest peak of Menorca with panoramic views
Talaiassa (commonly known as Sa Talaia) is the highest point on the island of Ibiza, located in the Balearic Islands of Spain. It is notable as the island’s principal summit at 475 metres and a local viewpoint.
Trails and a short road access lead toward the summit area where visitors find panoramic views across Ibiza and the surrounding Mediterranean, with visibility often extending to nearby islets on clear days. Hikers use several marked routes of varying steepness, and the summit is a popular short excursion from nearby towns.
The hill is a natural landmark rather than a fortified or archaeological site and has long served as a lookout point for the island. Modern use is recreational, with maintained paths and occasional small facilities for visitors.
Talaiassa sits in the western-central part of Ibiza within the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, rising above the island’s lowlands and agricultural terraces. The nearest sizable towns are Sant Antoni de Portmany and Ibiza Town, both reachable by road.
- Summit elevation and views: The summit sits at 475 metres above sea level and offers wide views over the island and the sea, making sunrise and sunset popular times to visit.
