Taj-ul-Masajid

Taj-ul-Masajid is a large mosque complex located in Bhopal, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India; its name means “Crown of Mosques.” It is one of the larger mosque complexes in the country and is notable for its expansive courtyard and substantial prayer spaces.

The complex includes a main prayer hall and a broad open courtyard with prominent minarets that frame the exterior. The site is used for daily prayers and large congregational services at major Islamic festivals.

Construction was initiated under the rule of the Begums of Bhopal in the 19th century and the mosque has undergone periods of extension and restoration since then. It has a history tied to the princely state era of Bhopal and subsequent municipal stewardship.

The mosque sits in central Bhopal and is accessible from the city by road; it forms a well-known religious landmark within the urban area.
