EVA Air is a Taiwan-based full-service carrier with a reputation for consistent service and a focus on international long-haul and regional Asian routes. The airline operates a widebody-heavy long-haul fleet for transpacific and intercontinental flying while maintaining narrowbody and turboprop services for regional destinations, and as a Star Alliance member it offers broad connectivity through alliance partners.

Infinity MileageLands

EVA Air’s frequent flyer program is called Infinity MileageLands. Miles are earned based on fare class and the operating carrier when flights are credited to the program, and can be redeemed for award travel, upgrades, and other benefits across Star Alliance partners such as United, Lufthansa, and Air Canada. The program is generally worth crediting flights to if you want Star Alliance award options and lounge/priority benefits through alliance status and redemptions.

Where EVA Air Flies

EVA Air is based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and operates a network focused on regional Asia routes plus extensive long-haul services across the Pacific to North America and to destinations in Europe and Oceania. Short- and medium-haul flying uses narrowbodies and turboprops, while widebody aircraft handle transpacific and other long-haul sectors. As a Star Alliance member, EVA extends its reach through alliance partners and codeshares with other member carriers, making connections across their global network straightforward.

Aircraft and Cabin Classes

EVA Air operates a mixed fleet with widebody Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft and Airbus A330s used on long-haul international routes, while Airbus A321 narrowbodies and ATR 72 turboprops serve regional and short-haul sectors; the airline also operates dedicated freighter 777Fs for cargo. Cabin offerings include a long-haul business class product marketed as Royal Laurel on many transpacific and other long-haul aircraft, a Premium Economy cabin on several widebodies, and standard Economy seating; many long-haul business cabins provide lie-flat seats and individual inflight entertainment, while Premium Economy and Economy vary by aircraft and route.

Aircraft types operated: Airbus A321-200, Airbus A330-200, Boeing 777-300ER, ATR 72-600, Airbus A330-300, Boeing 787-9, Boeing 787-10, Boeing 777F

Tips for Flying EVA Air

  • Check baggage allowance carefully before booking since allowances and carry-on rules vary by route and fare type, with long-haul fares typically including checked baggage while some discounted fares may have restrictions.
  • Credit flights to Infinity MileageLands (EVAs frequent flyer program) or to a Star Alliance partner if you collect alliance miles for easier redemptions and status accrual.
  • If you want lie-flat seating or the most comfortable long-haul experience, book business-class cabins on 777/787 services well in advance because those cabins sell out on transpacific flights.
  • Use the EVA Air app or website to check in, manage seats, and track flight status, and arrive early at Taiwan Taoyuan (TPE) for international departures where queues can form at peak times.
