Taijiang National Park

Taijiang National Park is a protected coastal wetland area on Taiwan’s southwest coast near Tainan, established to conserve tidal flats, mangroves and associated wildlife. It is nationally significant for its role in protecting migratory waterbirds and estuarine habitats.

The park contains extensive tidal flats, mangrove stands and shallow estuaries that support large numbers of shorebirds and waterfowl. Key wildlife highlights include wintering concentrations of waders and the endangered black-faced spoonbill; many observation points and small boardwalks allow close views of mudflats and bird flocks. Guided boat tours and birdwatching hides provide access to areas that are otherwise difficult to reach on foot.
