The island’s reefs and nearshore waters support fishing and subsistence activities; the landform itself is the remnant of volcanic activity and rises more steeply than many surrounding islands. Visitor infrastructure is minimal and services are limited.
Tafahi lies within the Vava’u administrative division in northern Tonga and is reached by short boat passages from larger islands in the group.
- Access: Boat transport from larger islands in Vava'u is the normal way to reach the island; there are no airports on Tafahi.
