Sybaris refers to the archaeological area near Sibari on Calabria's Ionian coast; the nearest major airport is Lamezia Terme (SUF) and the nearest rail access is Sibari station. Regional trains plus a short taxi or local bus are the standard public-transport approach to the ruins.
Lamezia Terme Airport (SUF): Lamezia is the main international airport serving Calabria. From SUF you can take a regional train or bus toward Sibari/Sibari station area; combined travel to the Sybaris/Sibari zone typically takes 2-3 hours depending on connections and operator.
Crotone Airport (CRV): Crotone is closer to parts of the Ionian coast; flights are seasonal and services limited. From CRV you’ll usually continue by road to reach the Sybaris archaeological area (short taxi or bus ride).
Train: Sibari railway station (Stazione di Sibari) lies on the Ionian (Jonica) line and is the nearest rail access point for the archaeological site of Sybaris. Regional Trenitalia services connect Sibari with Cosenza, Taranto and other towns; travel times and fares vary but regional tickets are inexpensive.
