The Swedish Museum of Natural History (Naturhistoriska riksmuseet) is Sweden’s national natural history museum, located in the Frescati area of Stockholm. It is one of the country’s largest museums for natural sciences and combines public exhibitions with scientific research collections.
Displays cover zoology, paleontology, botany, geology and human biology, with reconstructed dioramas and specimen exhibits. The site also hosts a domed planetarium and large-format cinema used for astronomy and science films.
The museum grew from national natural history collections assembled for research and public education and now operates both as a public museum and a scientific research institution. Collections are used by researchers and for long-term conservation of specimens.

How to Get to Swedish Museum of Natural History #
The Swedish Museum of Natural History (Naturhistoriska riksmuseet) is in the Frescati area near Stockholm University. Take the red line metro to Universitetet (or tram/bus services that stop at Frescati/Universitetet); from Universitetet station it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the museum. By car it’s a short drive from central Stockholm (roughly 6-8 km) via the Roslagsvägen/Valhallavägen arterial roads.
