Svitiaz is a lake in Volyn Oblast in northwestern Ukraine and is the largest and deepest lake of the Shatskyi lake system. It is known for its clear water and sandy beaches compared with surrounding lakes.
The lake attracts local and regional visitors for bathing and summer recreation; water quality and shoreline beaches are principal draws. Facilities are concentrated at a few lakeside settlements that support seasonal tourism.
Svitiaz formed as part of a system of postglacial lakes in the region and has been used for bathing and local fishing for many decades. It is managed as part of local nature and recreation resources rather than as an urban or heavily built tourist complex.
Geographically Svitiaz sits in the Shatskyi National Nature Park area of Volyn Oblast near the border with Poland and Belarus. The nearest regional centres are the towns and small cities of northwestern Ukraine.

How to Get to Svitiaz#
