Suwa taisha

Suwa Taisha is a Shinto shrine complex in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, composed of several separate shrine precincts around Lake Suwa that together form the principal shrine of the Suwa tradition. It is one of Japan’s historically important shrine institutions and retains a range of ritual roles and local festival practices.

The complex includes upper and lower shrine precincts, each containing main halls, subsidiary buildings and ritual areas used for regular worship and seasonal ceremonies.
