Strakonice is best reached by rail from Prague (PRG) with a change en route, or via České Budějovice for southern approaches. Regional buses and trains provide the main public-transport links into town.
Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG): Prague is the main international airport used to reach Strakonice. From Prague, take a train from Praha hlavní nádraží to Strakonice with at least one change (often in Písek); total rail travel time is roughly 2-3 hours depending on the connection. Taxis directly from Prague are possible but expensive for the distance.
Regional airports: České Budějovice/other regional airfields are smaller and offer fewer international connections; they can be used when arriving from within the Czech Republic or nearby countries but involve additional rail or road transfers to Strakonice.
