How to Get to Steigerwald #
Steigerwald is most easily reached from Würzburg or Bamberg. From Würzburg Hauptbahnhof, regional trains and buses connect to small towns on the Steigerwald’s edge; many villages are bike-accessible via regional cycling routes. By car, the A3 and A7 motorways place the park within 30-60 minutes of major centers.

- Head to the Untere Steigerwald (Lower Steigerwald) preserves for old-growth beech stands rarely seen elsewhere in Bavaria.
- Use local train to nearby Bamberg or Würzburg, then rent a bike-the region has quiet, signposted cycle routes.
- Look for the distinctive red sandstone outcrops near Handthal; they make good photo stops in low light.
