Tower Coastal lighthouse on Dnipro estuary guiding navigation
Coastal lighthouse in Kherson Oblast marking local waterways on the Black Sea coast; visited by those interested in maritime navigation, coastal scenery and rural seaside routes.
The Stanislav-Adziogol lighthouse is a steel lattice lighthouse in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine, notable as an early example of hyperboloid structural design. It was constructed to assist navigation at the mouth of local waterways and stands as a distinct industrial-era landmark.
Designed by engineer Vladimir Shukhov, the tower exemplifies the lightweight, open-lattice hyperboloid form used in several of his works. The structure has served as a navigational aid since its construction and is valued for its engineering as well as its maritime role.
The lighthouse sits offshore on the approaches to the Dnieper-Bug estuary in southern Ukraine and is normally reached only by boat. Public access to the tower itself is limited and it is principally of interest to those studying industrial architecture and maritime history.
