Sri Muktsar Sahib is best accessed by road from Bathinda or Amritsar airports, or by direct regional train services to the town’s station. Local buses, taxis and autos make short-distance movement easy and cheap.
Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar (ATQ): Amritsar is the nearest major international airport (around 120-160 km by road depending on route); a taxi transfer to Sri Muktsar Sahib typically takes 2-3 hours and costs approximately ₹2,500-4,000.
Bathinda Airport (BUP): Bathinda is closer (about 60-90 km) with limited domestic flights; road transfer to Muktsar is around 1-2 hours and taxi fares are generally ₹800-2,000.

- State & private buses (₹30-₹400) - Frequent bus services link Muktsar with Bathinda, Faridkot and other Punjab towns. Buses are plentiful, affordable and a practical option for day travel. Higher-tier or private AC buses cost more but are more comfortable on longer routes.
- Taxis & private hires (₹800-₹4,000) - Taxis and private car hires are common for airport transfers and day excursions to rural sites. They are faster and more convenient than buses but cost significantly more; negotiate a day rate for sightseeing. Pre-booking for airport pickups is recommended.
