Sri Mariamman Temple, Singapore

Sri Mariamman Temple is a Hindu temple on South Bridge Road in Singapore’s Chinatown, built in 1827 and recognised as the city’s oldest Hindu house of worship. It was designated a national monument in 1973 and remains an active temple.

The temple is notable for its ornate Dravidian-style entrance tower and richly decorated shrines. Key visitor sights include the painted multi-tiered gopuram, the inner sanctum with its main deity images, and the ritual spaces where ceremonies are held.
