Spitzkoppe is a group of dramatic granite peaks in central Namibia’s Erongo Region, formed by exposed inselbergs that rise sharply from the surrounding plain. The site is renowned for its distinctive rock shapes, climbing routes and photographic qualities.
Visitors are attracted to the area for rock climbing, bouldering, hiking and overnight camping close to the rock massifs; sunrise and sunset views are especially popular for photography. Short walks lead to rock shelters with panels of San rock art and archaeological interest.
