Spitsbergen

Spitsbergen is the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago, located in the Arctic Ocean north of mainland Norway and covering roughly 39,000 square kilometres. The island is characterised by glaciers, fjords and a largely glaciated interior, with settlements concentrated along the coasts.
