Sozopol on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast is best reached via Burgas Airport or by road from Burgas city. In summer, frequent buses and shuttles make the short onward journey; off-season, taxis or rental cars are most reliable.

By Air

Burgas Airport (BOJ): Sozopol’s closest airport is Burgas (BOJ), about 30-45 minutes by road south of Sozopol. From Burgas you can take a taxi, hire a car or use seasonal shuttle services; taxi transfers typically take 30-45 minutes.

Varna Airport (VAR): Varna is another option (longer drive, about 2-2.5 hours) and may offer additional flight choices depending on seasonality.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no direct train to Sozopol; the nearest railhead is in Burgas. From Burgas station you continue by bus or taxi to Sozopol.
