South Penghu Marine National Park is a protected marine and island area in the southern portion of the Penghu archipelago (Pescadores) in the Taiwan Strait. The park was established to conserve coastal geology, coral communities and marine biodiversity around the southern Penghu islands.

Key attractions are basalt shorelines and sea stacks, shallow coral reefs and seabird colonies; recreational activities include snorkeling, diving and coastal walks on accessible islets. The park also includes traditional fishing communities and features of local maritime culture.

Management seeks to balance tourism and conservation, with regulated access to sensitive marine habitats and guidance for visitors on low-impact activities. Facilities and transport to the islands are provided from the main Penghu islands and seasonal boat services.

The park covers southern islands and adjacent waters in the Penghu archipelago, in the Taiwan Strait off the west coast of Taiwan.

  • Marine and island wildlife: The park protects coral reef beds, rocky shorelines and seabird colonies, making it a focal area for snorkeling, diving and birdwatching in the Penghu Archipelago.
