Slavutych was built to house workers from the Chernobyl plant and is reached from Kyiv by regional train or road. Boryspil is the main international arrival airport, with onward rail/bus links to Slavutych via Kyiv.

By Air

Boryspil International Airport (KBP): The main international airport serving Kyiv and the region; by road to Slavutych it is approximately 140-170 km and takes around 1.5-2.5 hours depending on route and traffic. From KBP you can reach Kyiv city centre by train or bus, and onward rail or coach to Slavutych.

Kyiv (Zhuliany) (IEV): A smaller domestic/international airport closer to Kyiv centre; ground transfers to Slavutych generally route via Kyiv rail or bus connections and take longer overall than a direct transfer from Boryspil.

By Train & Bus

Train: Slavutych has a railway station (Slavutych) on the regional rail network; regular commuter and regional trains run from Kyiv (Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi) to Slavutych with journey times around 1.5-2.5 hours depending on train type. Tickets are inexpensive; buy at stations or via Ukrainian Railways.
