Skukuza

Skukuza is the largest rest camp and administrative centre within Kruger National Park, located in Limpopo Province, South Africa. It functions as a hub for park operations and visitor services and includes accommodation, shops and ranger facilities.

The camp offers a range of visitor amenities including lodging, a visitor centre, restaurants, fuel and guided safari services; an on-site airstrip supports charter flights. Skukuza is commonly used as a base for game drives into the southern sectors of Kruger where large mammal sightings are frequent.

Skukuza developed as the park’s principal operational centre and accommodation hub, consolidating ranger services, research and visitor management in one location. It continues to serve both administrative and tourist functions.

The camp lies inside Kruger National Park on the banks of local rivers within the southern part of the reserve, and is accessed by the park road network from the nearest regional towns and gates.
