Skokloster Castle is a mid-17th-century Baroque castle on a peninsula on Lake Mälaren in Uppsala County, Sweden. It is renowned for exceptionally well-preserved 17th-century interiors, collections and an historic armoury.
The castle contains richly furnished state rooms, a large armoury and gallery spaces that display period paintings, furniture and arms assembled during the 17th century. Guided tours focus on the Great Hall, the armoury and the castle’s collections; the setting on the lake adds to the site’s visual prominence.
Commissioned and built in the mid-17th century for a Swedish noble, the castle was completed during the 1600s and later became a repository for art and arms. Its interiors and collections largely reflect the tastes and acquisitions of its original patrons and subsequent owners preserved through the centuries.
Set on a wooded lakeshore peninsula on Lake Mälaren, the castle lies between Stockholm and Uppsala in Uppsala County and is accessible by road and by seasonal boat services on the lake.

By car, take E18 west towards Enköping and follow local signs; the castle is a short drive from the E18 exit toward Skokloster.
