How to Get to Skara#
Skara is easiest reached by flying into Gothenburg Landvetter or by rail to Skövde and a short bus hop. The town itself has limited rail service, so plan a final leg by regional bus from Skövde or nearby hubs.
Göteborg Landvetter (GOT): Fly into Gothenburg Landvetter and take the Flygbussarna airport coach to Göteborgs centralstation (about 20-30 minutes, ~99 SEK / ~9-10 EUR). From Gothenburg central take an SJ or Västtrafik regional train to Skövde C (about 1h15) and then a Västtrafik bus to Skara (about 35-45 minutes; regional bus segment typically covered by a Västtrafik single ticket or zone card).
Stockholm Arlanda (ARN): If arriving at Arlanda, take an SJ/InterCity train from Stockholm Central to Skövde C (roughly 2.5-3 hours) and then a local bus to Skara (35-45 minutes). Expect longer total travel time than via Gothenburg.
Train: The nearest main railway hub is Skövde C (served by SJ and regional Västtrafik services). Trains from Göteborg to Skövde take ~1h15; trains from Stockholm take ~2.5-3h. From Skövde you connect by regular Västtrafik buses to Skara (35-45 minutes).
