How to Get to Lidköping#
Lidköping is most easily reached by regional train (Lidköping station) from Gothenburg and other Västra Götaland hubs. For international flights use Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) and transfer via Gothenburg Central to regional rail or bus services.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT): Landvetter is the main international airport for Västra Götaland. From Landvetter you can take the airport coach (Flygbussarna) to Gothenburg Central (about 25-30 min, ~99-150 SEK) and then SJ or Västtrafik trains toward Lidköping (around 1h15-1h45 by train from Gothenburg depending on connections). A taxi directly to Lidköping takes roughly 1h10-1h30 and costs roughly 900-1,500 SEK.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN): For some international flights Arlanda is an alternative; transfer to Gothenburg by train (2h-3h high-speed) then continue to Lidköping - total travel time is longer, typically 3-4 hours.
Train: Lidköping station (Lidköping resecentrum) is on regional rail routes served by Västtågen and other regional services connecting to Gothenburg and Skövde. Typical regional fares to Gothenburg are around 120-220 SEK and take about 1-1.5 hours depending on service.
Bus: Västtrafik operates intercity and local buses linking Lidköping with nearby towns, including regular routes to Skara, Trollhättan and smaller villages. Single fares within the regional network are usually 20-70 SEK depending on distance; long-distance coach fares are higher.
