Skanderborg is well connected by Denmark's regional rail network - the easiest way in is by train from Aarhus or other Jutland cities. Regional airports (Aarhus, Billund) feed into bus and rail connections for the last leg.

By Air

Aarhus Airport (AAR): Aarhus Airport (Tirstrup) is the nearest regional airport, about 40-50 km from Skanderborg. From Aarhus Airport take a bus to Aarhus city (about 40-50 min) and then a regional train from Aarhus Central Station to Skanderborg (25-35 min); taxi from Aarhus Airport into Aarhus costs ~DKK 350-450.

Billund Airport (BLL): Billund is another option for international flights (approx. 60-80 km). From Billund take a bus to Vejle or Aarhus then rail connections to Skanderborg; total travel time is typically 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections.

By Train & Bus
