Sheffield Park and Garden

Sheffield Park and Garden is a landscaped garden and historic park in East Sussex managed by the National Trust, noted for its lakes, specimen trees and seasonal plant displays. The garden combines designed water features with informal woodland and shrub borders.

Visitors typically explore the lake edges, woodland walks and the formal borders that produce a notable spring display of azaleas and rhododendrons. Paths loop around the main lake and link to a network of smaller woodlands and viewing points.

The estate originated as parkland and has been developed over successive centuries into the present garden landscape; it is now preserved and maintained by the National Trust for public access and conservation. The site is also linked to local heritage through the adjacent preserved Bluebell Railway.

Sheffield Park and Garden sits in rural East Sussex, with its main car park and entrance beside the Bluebell Railway’s Sheffield Park Station. The garden is reached by road from nearby towns in Mid Sussex and East Sussex.
