Sgòr an Lochain Uaine is a mountain peak in the Cairngorms of Scotland, known in English as the Angel’s Peak. It is recognised as a Munro and forms part of a high plateau of alpine terrain.
Walkers and mountaineers visit for high-level scrambling and ridge walking among granite plateaus and corries, with panoramic views of nearby giants such as Braeriach and Ben Macdui. Routes commonly approach from established high passes and use well-trodden path lines across rocky ground.
As a natural mountain feature the peak has no built history but it became a mapped and recorded Munro within the Scottish mountaineering lists used by climbers and hillwalkers. Its name derives from Gaelic and references a small green loch in the corrie below the summit.
The peak sits within the northern Cairngorms in eastern Highlands, inside the Cairngorms National Park, amid high plateaux and corries to the north of the central Cairngorm massif.
