How to Get to Sevlievo
Sevlievo is reached primarily by road - intercity buses from Sofia and regional centres are the standard public option. There is no direct passenger rail into the town, so plan for a bus transfer from nearby rail hubs if arriving by train.
Sofia Airport (SOF): Sofia is the primary international airport for central Bulgaria; Sevlievo lies roughly 140-170 km east of Sofia. From Sofia you can travel by intercity bus to Sevlievo (approx. 2-3 hours) or combine train and bus via Gorna Oryahovitsa/Veliko Tarnovo. Bus fares from Sofia typically range from 15-30 BGN.
Varna / Burgas: These Black Sea airports are farther away and generally not the most convenient for Sevlievo; Varna is about 230 km and Burgas further, requiring lengthy road transfers.
Train: Sevlievo does not have a direct railway station on Bulgaria’s main passenger network; the nearest larger rail hub is Gorna Oryahovitsa (or Veliko Tarnovo area) and you would transfer there.
