S'Espalmador

S’Espalmador is a small, uninhabited islet in the Balearic archipelago situated between the islands of Formentera and Ibiza. It is known for its sandy beaches, shallow turquoise water and low-density, day-trip tourism.

Sandy beaches, shallow sandbanks and clear water suitable for swimming and wading dominate the visitor experience; the coastline is largely undeveloped and visits are typically short. The islet’s natural shorelines and dunes offer open, beach-focused recreation rather than built attractions.

The islet has historically been used intermittently for fishing and salt extraction in the surrounding region; it has not supported permanent habitation in modern times. Its value today is largely recreational and ecological.

S’Espalmador lies just north of Formentera in the Balearic Islands and is commonly reached by boat from ports on Formentera and Ibiza. The islet sits in shallow waters that attract day trips from the larger islands.
