Sejerø Island

Sejerø is an island in the Kattegat sea off the west coast of Zealand in Denmark and administratively part of Kalundborg Municipality. It is a low-lying island with small villages and a coastline of beaches and rocky shores.

The island is primarily used for seasonal tourism, local agriculture and as a quiet residential community, with walking tracks and coastal viewpoints around its perimeter. Birdwatching and coastal recreation are common activities in summer.

Historically the island has been a small agricultural and fishing community; in modern times seasonal holiday homes and visitor services have grown while retaining a low-density settlement pattern. Ferry services link the island to the Zealand mainland.

Sejerø lies northwest of Zealand in the Kattegat, accessible by ferry from Havnsø on the Zealand coast and forming part of the archipelago off Denmark’s eastern shores.
