The island is accessed primarily by small boat and is visited for day trips, swimming and short walks along coastal tracks; there are few services and no significant tourist infrastructure. Vegetation is typically Mediterranean scrub and there are limited permanent dwellings.
Administratively part of Split-Dalmatia County, the island sits in the central Dalmatian archipelago and is within easy reach of Hvar by private or chartered boat.
