Savur-Mohyla

Savur-Mohyla is a prominent hill and memorial site in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, notable for its strategic height and commemorative structures. The summit and slopes include a Soviet-era memorial complex and burial sites commemorating earlier conflicts.

The site is primarily visited for its memorial and the hilltop vantage over the surrounding steppe; the rise is a local landmark because it stands noticeably above otherwise flat terrain. Ruins, memorial plaques and concrete structures associated with military history can be seen on and around the summit.

Savur-Mohyla has been a focal point in multiple 20th- and 21st-century conflicts. A memorial complex was erected on the hill in the Soviet period to mark wartime graves and events. In the 21st century the hill regained strategic significance and saw renewed combat during armed conflicts in eastern Ukraine.

The hill sits in eastern Donetsk Oblast near the administrative border area with Luhansk Oblast, rising above surrounding agricultural steppe. It is inland from major Black Sea ports and lies within the Donetsk regional landscape rather than near a coastal city.
