Satpura Tiger Reserve is a protected landscape in the Satpura Range of central India, in Madhya Pradesh, that combines multiple national park and sanctuary units to conserve tigers and other wildlife across hilly, forested terrain.
The modern reserve comprises pre-existing protected areas including Satpura National Park, Pachmarhi Sanctuary and Bori Wildlife Sanctuary, brought together under India’s protected-area and tiger-conservation frameworks to maintain habitat connectivity and species protection.
The reserve lies in the Satpura Range of Madhya Pradesh, centred on and around the Pachmarhi uplands, in central India; Pachmarhi acts as the main visitor gateway into the protected zones.

Closest major railheads are Hoshangabad (Narmadapuram) and Pachmarhi; nearest airports are Bhopal (about 150-200 km) or Jabalpur (longer). Road access from Bhopal or Jabalpur via state highways; internal gate coordinates depend on the zone (Pachmarhi, Denwa, or Bori). Book safaris and permits through the official reserve website or the local DFO office.
