Satpara Lake is a natural freshwater lake in the Skardu area of Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan, used as a local reservoir and scenic waterbody. The lake sits within the Skardu valley system and is a source of water for the surrounding agricultural plain.
The lake is frequented for short boat trips and lakeside walks, and it provides scenic views of the surrounding Karakoram foothills. Local visitors use the lake for recreation and as a starting point for nearby short excursions.
Satpara is a natural lake whose outflow is regulated by a dam structure built at its outlet to store water for irrigation and municipal supply. The dam and associated works were added to manage seasonal flows and provide more reliable water resources for Skardu.
The lake lies a few kilometres from Skardu town in the upper Indus valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, surrounded by rugged valley sides and mountain scenery typical of the region.

From Skardu town centre you can reach the lake by taxi or jeep in about 10-20 minutes, driving roughly 7-10 km on the Skardu-Satpara road to the Satpara Dam and lake area; there is short walking from the parking/roadside down to the lakeshore.
