Santa Claus Village
Amusement Park Theme village at Arctic Circle celebrating Santa Claus
Around Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle, Santa Claus Village markets the Christmas experience: meet Santa, cross the Arctic Circle line, ride reindeer or husky tours, and browse year-round souvenir shops.
Santa Claus Village is a tourist complex on the outskirts of Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland that markets itself around Santa Claus and Christmas-themed attractions. The site contains a number of shops, visitor services and a marked Arctic Circle line.
Attractions include a visitor office or meeting area for Santa Claus, postal services that handle letters sent to Santa, shops selling Christmas goods, and seasonal activities such as reindeer or husky rides and snow-related excursions in winter. The Arctic Circle line at the site is a frequent photo location.
Developed in the late 20th century as a purpose-built tourist destination linked to the Santa Claus theme, the complex expanded over time to include visitor services, restaurants and event programming aimed at international tourists.
Located at the northern edge of Rovaniemi on Finland’s Arctic Circle, the village is immediately accessible from the town by road and is a short drive from Rovaniemi airport and the town centre.
- Arctic Circle: Straddles the Arctic Circle - a visible line on-site marks the latitude and is a common photo spot for visitors.

Tips for Visiting Santa Claus Village #
- Aim for early morning or late afternoon outside of December peak weeks if you want fewer crowds - Santa Claus Village is busiest on weekends and during the Christmas season.
- Make a stop at the Arctic Circle line and the Santa Claus Main Post Office to send mail with the special Arctic Circle postmark; these are free-to-access highlights that many visitors overlook while rushing between photo spots.
- Book any paid experiences (husky, reindeer or sleigh rides, and themed activities) in advance, especially in high season, as those excursions sell out and are scheduled separately from general entry.
