The Sanctuary of Zeus Polieus is an ancient cult precinct on the Acropolis of Athens dedicated to Zeus as protector of the city. It occupies a compact area on the north side of the Acropolis near the Erechtheion.
What survives today is largely foundations and the footprint of the precinct rather than substantial standing architecture; visitors encounter these remains as part of the broader Acropolis visit. The site is visited primarily for its archaeological footprint and its relationship to neighbouring monuments on the Acropolis rather than for large visible structures.
