Saiko Lake is one of the Fuji Five Lakes at the northern foot of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, and forms part of the recreational and natural landscape on the mountain’s northern slopes. The lake is a popular base for outdoor activities and cultural attractions.

The lakeshore offers camping, fishing and boating, with several small boat launches and walkable shoreline paths; the west shore contains Iyashi no Sato, a reconstructed thatched‑roof folk village presenting traditional rural houses and crafts. On clear days parts of the lake provide framed views of Mount Fuji and access to nearby hiking in the Aokigahara forest.

The lake and surrounding settlements have long been used for fishing and local agriculture; in recent decades the area developed as a recreational destination with cultural preservation projects such as the Iyashi no Sato village. The lake’s setting at Mount Fuji’s base makes it part of a broader landscape of tourism and pilgrimage.

Saiko lies in Yamanashi Prefecture at the northern base of Mount Fuji, adjacent to Aokigahara forest and within the Fuji Five Lakes region, with access from Kawaguchiko and other local towns by road and local bus services.
