Rýchory

Rýchory is a ridge and upland area in the eastern Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) within the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic, known for its mountain meadows and forested slopes. It lies at the eastern edge of the Krkonoše mountain massif and forms a distinct local highland.

The area is used for mountain hiking and contains a protected remnant of native forest known as the Rýchorský prales. Trails across the ridge give access to open mountain meadows and viewpoints over the surrounding range.

Historically the ridge and its upland pastures were used for grazing and local forestry; conservation measures in the 20th century established protected forest stands to preserve old-growth features. The Rýchory area remains part of the broader Krkonoše natural and recreational landscape.

Rýchory sits in the eastern section of the Krkonoše mountains in the Hradec Králové Region, to the east of the main Krkonoše ridge and within reach of regional centres such as Trutnov.
