Trail networks within the roughly 160-acre park offer loop routes commonly between about 1.5 and 3 miles, with exposed ridgelines that provide panoramic views of the Hollywood Sign, downtown Los Angeles and the ocean on clear days. Formerly undeveloped hillside used for grazing and limited residential plots, the land has been managed as municipal open space and recreational parkland under the City of Los Angeles to preserve hillside access and views.
