Romano-Gallic Baths of Entrammes Archaeological Site

The Romano-Gallic Baths of Entrammes are a Gallo-Roman bath complex located at Entrammes in the Mayenne department of Pays de la Loire, France. The site preserves structural remains from the Roman period and is a major local archaeological feature.

Remains of the bath complex are visible as masonry foundations and room outlines with interpretive panels on site. A small display presents pottery and other finds recovered during excavations, giving an impression of the site’s scale and function within a Roman-period settlement.

The baths were constructed and used during the Roman period as part of a local settlement. Archaeological work in the 19th and 20th centuries exposed the structural remains and recovered material culture now used for interpretation.

The site sits in the river plain at Entrammes, beside the Mayenne river and roughly 10 km west of Laval in northwestern France. The surrounding landscape is low-lying and predominantly agricultural.

Entrammes is about 10 km south of Laval, accessible by taking the D305 from Laval toward Entrammes village. The archaeological site lies within walking distance of the village center; there is limited roadside parking. From Nantes or Rennes, take the N157/A81 to Laval, then follow local roads to Entrammes.
