Rogagua Lake is a freshwater lake in the Beni Department of northeastern Bolivia, within the lowland Amazonian basin. It lies in a region characterized by wetlands and seasonal flooding.
The lake and surrounding wetlands are of interest for wildlife observation, especially waterbirds, fish and aquatic mammals typical of the Bolivian Amazon lowlands. Access is generally by road and river routes from regional towns and is seasonal depending on water levels.
Like many lakes in the Beni lowlands, Rogagua Lake’s form and extent are shaped by annual flood cycles and sediment dynamics; it has long been part of local subsistence fishing and seasonal navigation routes.
The lake is located in Beni Department in northeastern Bolivia, within the Amazonian floodplain region of the country; the nearest larger settlements are regional towns in Beni.
