Risnjak National Park is a protected mountain area in Gorski Kotar in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia, centred on the Risnjak massif. The park protects mixed beech and fir forests, karst features and alpine meadows typical of the inland Adriatic highlands.
Hikers and nature visitors use marked trails to reach the park’s peaks and ridges, with the highest point, Risnjak, rising to about 1,528 metres. How to Get to Risnjak National Park #
Risnjak National Park lies in the Gorski Kotar region; the nearest towns are Delnice and Rijeka. By car, the common route is from Rijeka via the A6 motorway toward Delnice, then local roads to the park entrances (drive distance roughly 30-50 km depending on the chosen entrance). Regional buses run from Rijeka to Delnice; from Delnice you can take local transport or a short taxi ride to the park trailheads and parking areas.
