Reisa National Park is a protected area in northern Norway that conserves alpine plateaus, river valleys and boreal forest in Finnmark. The park was established to protect the Reisa valley landscape and its natural features.
The long Reisa valley with its river canyon, riparian forests and a notable waterfall that forms a popular hiking destination. Trails and simple visitor facilities provide access to viewpoints, riverbanks and mountain plateaus for hiking, fishing and nature observation.
The park was designated by the Norwegian government in 1986 to conserve the valley, river system and adjacent highland ecosystems while allowing traditional uses such as reindeer herding to continue. Management emphasizes habitat protection and visitor guidance.
Reisa National Park lies in far northern Norway, in Finnmark (now Troms og Finnmark administrative area), north of the Arctic Circle. The park sits along the Reisa river corridor and is reached from nearby towns and roadheads to the south and west of the protected area.
