Rate Field, commonly known as Guaranteed Rate Field, is a Major League Baseball stadium in Chicago, Illinois and the home of the Chicago White Sox. It opened in 1991 as the clubs replacement for the older Comiskey Park and is a principal sports venue on Chicagos South Side.
The ballpark features seating for roughly 40,000 spectators, multiple spectator decks, and modern facilities for players and fans. It hosts the White Sox regular season home games and related team events.
Construction and opening took place in the early 1990s to provide updated amenities and improved sightlines compared with the previous stadium. The venue has undergone renovations and branding changes since opening.
The stadium sits in the Armour Square neighborhood of Chicago, near public transit links and downtown Chicago approximately 3 to 4 miles north of the ballpark.

How to Get to Rate Field #
This is Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighbourhood. Take the CTA Red Line to the Sox-35th (35th) station, which is adjacent to the ballpark and a very short walk from the gates; Metra’s Rock Island District also stops nearby at 35th-Bronzeville-IIT. Driving from downtown Chicago is about 5 miles (8 km) south via the city’s southbound routes (I‑90/94 or local arterial streets); allow time for event traffic and limited parking.
