Rasshua is an island in the Kuril Islands chain, administratively part of Sakhalin Oblast in Russia. It is a volcanic island characterised by steep coasts, limited human habitation and a remote maritime climate.
The island’s landscape is dominated by volcanic topography, coastal cliffs and maritime tundra vegetation, and it is primarily of interest for natural history and remote island ecosystems. Human presence has historically been sparse and seasonal.
