How to Get to Raron#
Raron is easily reached by rail on the Simplon line-Raron Bahnhof is on regular SBB services-making train travel the simplest option from Visp, Brig or Geneva. Sion Airport offers a closer but smaller air option when available.
Geneva Airport (GVA): A common international gateway for Valais, though a longer drive to Raron (~1.5-2.5 hours depending on route). From Geneva take TGV/Lyria or regional SBB services to Visp or Brig, then a local train or bus to Raron.
Sion Airport (SIR): The closest regional airport in Valais (seasonal/limited flights). From Sion you can reach Raron by regional train or car in about 20-40 minutes; taxis and local buses link the airport and valley towns.
Train: Raron has its own station (Raron Bahnhof) on the Simplon line served by SBB regional and interregional trains. Trains from Visp or Brig take about 10-15 minutes; regional fares are modest (often CHF 5-15).
