Rangamati is reached via Chattogram (Chittagong) by road and lake boat. The final stretch across Kaptai Lake is often by launch or speedboat, which is part of the travel experience and necessary for accessing lakeside areas.
Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram (CGP): Chattogram (Chittagong) is the main airport serving Rangamati. From Chattogram you travel by road to Kaptai and then by boat to Rangamati; total travel time is typically 2.5-4 hours depending on connections. Taxis or buses from the airport to the bus/boat terminals in the city cost roughly 300-800 BDT.
Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC): From Dhaka you can take a domestic flight to Chattogram then continue by road/boat, or travel overland by bus or private car directly to Rangamati (a long trip of 6-8+ hours by road).
Train: There is no direct train service to Rangamati; the nearest mainline rail access is Chattogram. From Chattogram travel by road to Kaptai and take a boat for the final leg to Rangamati.
