Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino

Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino is a historic colonial estate and museum on the outskirts of Santa Marta in northern Colombia. It is best known as the place where Simón Bolívar spent his final days and died on 17 December 1830.

The site comprises the former hacienda house, now a museum with period rooms and exhibits about Bolívar and the region’s history, together with gardens and planted grounds. Visitors commonly tour the house, see Bolívar-related artefacts and walk the estate’s grounds.

Originally a sugar-cane hacienda, the property was adapted into a memorial and public site in later years and is managed for cultural tourism and preservation. It functions as both a historic house museum and a landscaped public site.

The quinta is located near Santa Marta on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, within Magdalena Department, and is accessible from the city by road.
